So the night before I preach, I often find myself changing my mind completely as to what I’ll be talking about. Not completely. But the sermon may change completely. Sometimes it stays.
Tomorrow, I’m team preaching with Mitch. This is another reason I really dig team preaching. At this point in the whole preaching preparation, I just stay in the groove of where we’ve been for the past few weeks. It stays the same. Nothing’s changing. I get to relax into it…of course it is easier to relax into your sermon when you’re preaching with one of the best preachers in the world. Seriously. It takes a huge burden off your shoulders cause you’ve listened to God and to your mentor here in preaching who you will be preaching with. So just relax into it.
And that’s what I’m doing. Mostly.
I’m not doing what I call “the night before freak out”. More just the…I’m pumped for tomorrow morning. So pumped that I might not go to sleep for a while. We’ll see.
And did I mention how proud I am of my dudes in the college group? Yeah, the whole thing is a college led-worship service. We’ve got some very passionate people who want to see the LORD lifted high through their service, and I’m honored to work with them!
